It was a great week at the Koforidua YMCA Centre as Reusable Bags GH was invited to educate and train South-North & North-South volunteers under the Weltwarts exchange program. The workshop was attended by 31 volunteers from Germany, Ghana, Cameroon and Togo. The cross-cultural environment encouraged a warm, friendly and learning environment.

The first part of the workshop was the Gallery Walk Project, where volunteers were grouped and timed to work on specific projects. This encouraged diversity, creativity and teamwork as every team put in their best to produce a brilliant walk.
Addressing the audience, the Project Lead of Reusable Bags GH, Bismark Osiakwa took the participants through the Environmental Waste Theory and Upcycling. He explained that there is beauty in Upcycling, where something which seems to be no longer in use is given a second life and a new purpose.
Volunteers also had a special intercultural session where they shared about their various cultures. Away from the classroom topics, there were a lot of fun activities to refresh volunteers.
The icing on the cake was the practical session where volunteers learned how to sew some bags. It was fun, educational and informative!
We continue to be passionate about what we do and ensure that our vision of a greener environment will contribute to environmental sustainability.
