MOBILE WEB GHANA HOSTS REUSABLE BAGS GH TO CELEBRATE WORLD EARTH DAY

World Earth Day is an annual event marked on 22nd April to demonstrate support for the protection of the environment.

This year, Reusable Bags GH marked the august occasion with Mobile Web Ghana who invited the team to speak to 34 students and facilitators from Kwabenya Senior High School. 

The event was held on Friday, 21st April, 2023 at the American Corner, Agbogba. The theme for the celebration was “Invest in Our Planet: Make & Use a Reusable Bag Every Day.”

Speaking at the workshop, the facilitator from Reusable Bags GH educated the students on the 7 Rs of Sustainability – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Repurpose, Refuse, Rethink and Repair. It was truly an enlightening session as the students engaged the facilitator on conversations relating to reducing plastic waste in the country and protecting the environment.

Away from the theoretical talks, the team propagated the live-the-talk phenomenon by helping all students and facilitators sew a reusable bag   for themselves and start using them in place of single-use plastics. The bags were sewn  from old clothes that were recued from Kantomanto in Accra and it was a very great experience for all present to learn to sew a reusable bag and also own one for themselves to help protect their environment.
