Green Butterfly’s Annual Mother Earth Festival

Greetings dear friends hope all is well with everyone! This year, Green Butterfly’s annual “Mother Earth Festival” will be held (mostly virtual) from Saturday, April 17th to Thursday, April 22nd (earth day).

“EARTHDAY.ORG’s theme for Earth Day 2021 is Restore Our Earth™️, which focuses on natural processes, emerging green technologies, and innovative thinking that can restore the world’s ecosystems. In this way, the theme rejects the notion that mitigation or adaptation are the only ways to address climate change. It is up to each and every one of us to Restore Our Earth not just because we care about the natural world, but because we live on it. We all need a healthy Earth to support our jobs, livelihoods, health & survival, and happiness. A healthy planet is not an option — it is a necessity.”

This year we aim to inspire young and aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators to join in the restoration of our planet in each of their own unique ways. On Saturday 17th April we will be hosting a small group of young aspiring entrepreneurs at the Green Butterfly Market. We will be providing them with orientation as well as a chance to interact with our makers and artisans. Most of these young ones are students from the Teshie and Jamestown areas who have a desire to make change happen by owning their own Eco-friendly businesses. We believe an outing such as this one will expose them to a whole new world of possibility, inspiring them to work harder and hopefully, join our mentorship program being rolled out later in the year.

At the market on 17th April, we encourage everyone to bring along some seeds, seedlings to donate, or to buy plants and seedlings from any of our plants’ vendors on that day. Our pledge is to plant all these by Thursday 22nd April 2021🌿🌱

MOTHER EARTH FESTIVAL continues from 17th April until 22nd April with various live online sessions that will be streamed via our social media pages.
